Uncle Blaine
Found out while setting up for the Powell Christmas Party that my Uncle Blaine had passed away. We are sure going to miss him, but we know he isn’t suffering anymore and that he is reunited with family and friends. We know he suffered and didn’t complain. He was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease and survived it longer than doctors thought he would. Love you Uncle Blaine.

Powell Christmas Party
This past weekend we had a Powell Family Christmas Party. Usually it is held on Christmas, this year we (some not happy about it) decided to do it earlier than Christmas day so that people from out of state could make it. Shelly, Myrna, and I were in charge of it. It seemed to be enjoyed by the siblings that decided it was important to come and see family and support mom on her first christmas without dad. Thanks to everyone that came and made it enjoyable.
Thanks Trac
Last night went to dinner and a movie with my best friend from high school. We have stayed in touch over the years but not done a whole lot with having kids and all. So we went to see THE ERRAND OF ANGELS. It was a cute show.
Then we went out to dinner at our favorite restaurant of all times LOS HERMANOS. Ordered the same thing – wierd how much we are still alike after all these years. It was a blast. Need to do it more often and stay in better touch. Love you Trac.

Salt Lake is GORGEOUS
Had the opportunity to go up to the Salt Lake Temple and do a session yesterday morning. What a wonderful experience. It was so gorgeous and breath taking. David and I were sealed in this gorgeous temple but have never done a session there. Thanks Shelly for the outing.
Then we meet up with Chris (a cousin) and her daughter Christine for lunch at Olive Garden.
Viva Las Vegas!
Well this past weekend, I decided to take a road trip to wonderful Las Vegas. So loaded up the van, picked up Shelly (sister), Amanda (niece), Jesse (friend of Amanda), and Aubs (friend of Amanada). Of course, we didn’t get on the road as early as we wanted on Friday afternoon. Needless to say the ride went smoothly. Dropped the kids off to see a movie and Shelly and I headed off to do a session at the St. George Temple. Well, I am a space cadet and left my dress in Provo. We didn’t do a session. Luckily the kids hadn’t gotten tickets to the movie so went back to get them and then went to dinner. Decided to at least take the kids to the temple to see how gorgeous it is. We then loaded back up and headed into Las Vegas. Made a stop at Wal-Mart to get me a skirt, and then went to Terrie’s house (sister). We stayed up and talked till 2 in the morning and then got up and went to the Las Vegas Temple to do a session.
What a beautiful temple. What a wonderful experience to attend a session with 3 amazing women Shelly, Terrie, and Michelle (niece). We then had to of course go get IN-N-OUT BURGERS. We went to the outlet stores and then headed over to Mama Mia. What a wonderful opportunity. We had a blast. After we went with Michelle, and hung out on the strip for a few hours. We ate at the Harley Davidson Cafe. Had a couple drunk guys hitting on us. It was pretty funny to watch. Seeing the kids reactions to the Vegas lifestyle was kind of humerous. We were going on to go on New New York but got there right after they took the last group. O well, next time. We hit M&M World (kids loved it). Need to go when have a lot of money to spend. Ended up sleeping in and not getting as early of a start on Sunday morning to head home. Overall, it was a wonderful time and experience. I will have to find the camera cord so I can upload pictures hopefully this weekend.
Temple
Well, I hate to admit that it has been a loooooooooonnnnnnngggggggg time since I have gone to the temple. I have had a recommend just never seem to get around to it. Last night Shelly talked me into going and doing a session with her. I am so grateful for her. Not sure how she knew that I needed that extra guidance and reminder in my life right now but she did. Thanks Shelly. I am grateful for you and love you. You are an amazing woman.
State Fair
Decided to go up to the State Fair last night with Shelly (David’s sister), Amanda (her daughter), Andrea (her daughter), Aubrie (friend), Erica (friend), Lizzy (my little daughter), and myself. We walked around for quite a while. Let the girls go on a ride and bought the best fudge. It was soooooooo sweet though that it was hard to much of it. Thanks Shelly for inviting us for a girls night out. We sure had fun with you guys. You guys make life fun and NEVER dull.

What a long day. Yesterday we left at 5:00 a.m. to drive up to Rock Springs, Wyoming to see our little nephew Bryan be blessed. He sure was gorgeous in his little TUX. I of course forgot to take pictures in the hectic running around trying to help out. They hosted a BBQ at their house after the blessing. We ended up staying and visiting for awhile. David’s sister (Shelly) was following us as she hasn’t been up there much. Well, on the way home I am driving and keep looking in my rearview mirror making sure she is staying up. Well, I notice she is slowing down and I thought o well we will meet up in Evanston. As I get to the next exit, I notice she is blinking to exit. I looked at David and said I wonder if she is having car problems. Great that’s all we need. Good thing David is mechanically inclined right? Well, luckily it was that she had left all her stuff back in Rock Springs. So needless to say, I switched vehicles and went back the 1/2 hour to Rock Springs with Shelly to retrieve her belongings. Thanks to Tiffany for meeting us part way so we didn’t have to go clear back up the house. Needless to say it was a very long day but worth it.
